Rarevision is a multi-media production company specializing in film and television.
We offer production on 35mm film and DV, special effects (CG) work, editing and consulting.
Our production values match high-budget productions at a much lower cost. With this being the case, you may wonder why anyone would ever spend money on these high-budget productions?
Thanks to recent advancements in technology, production tasks that were impossible to accomplish cost effectively a few years ago can now be handled inexpensively. Technology is also moving so quickly that it is very difficult for firms to keep up with the latest and greatest technologies out there without a research and development staff. On the other hand, Rarevision is on the bleeding edge because our production staff is also a very talented research and development staff. By combining these recent technological advances with clever engineering, we can offer a product that will give you a huge credibility boost -- increasing attention and ultimately increasing sales -- at a cost that is peanuts compared to traditional, high-end productions.
Still, until the technology and concepts utilized in the Rarevision process become mainstream, there will always be advertising firms that believe the "traditional" and "tried-and-true" high-end path to broadcast advertising is the most reputable. We feel that in many cases this is merely a political decision and an opportunity to insert hidden costs into an already complex and exhaustive process.
At what point in the production process does Rarevision save me money compared to traditional productions?
The Rarevision process encompasses the entire production process, from pre-production to post-production. Our unique engineering solutions to common production problems enable us to operate with significantly less overhead than large, high quality production firms. We, of course, pass the savings on to our clients with a smile. :-)
Still, broadcast television advertising is a multi-step process. Rarevision's production model applies to the production step of that process. Other steps, such as media planning and purchasing, are handled in a traditional manner. Although Rarevision constantly strives to provide clients with high-quality, low-cost advertising, broadcast exposure typically is proportional to a firm's media budget. In other words, the more money you spend on media placement, the greater your audience. Rarevision can help by turning more heads, and getting a response through compelling creative rather than repetition.
I have noticed quite a bit of tacky, obviously low-budget television advertisements that play on cable television late at night. Will our production look like this?
Absolutely not. One of the primary goals in the development of Rarevision's production model was to achieve the same exact level of quality displayed by high-budget productions on prime time television. Advertisements produced with the Rarevision process share this quality, giving the impression that these advertisements reflect a substantial advertising budget. This is a key factor in establishing credibility with your target audience.
You continually mention that the quality offered by the Rarevision process parallels the quality of high-budget productions seen on prime time television. Would you please elaborate?
In the case of a Rarevision production, the term "quality" applies to several facets of the production.
First and foremost is conceptualization. It is imperative that our productions mirror the goals of our clients. As an advertising firm, we collaborate with our clients to assist them in defining their needs and the best approach to meeting those needs. We develop a concept that effectively engages their target audience, delivering the message clearly.
Another facet is visual quality. The Rarevision process was developed from the ground up with visual quality as a primary concern. The result is crystal clear visual elements, which are common among high-budget productions. Photography and motion graphics are crystal clear, and created using the most technologically advanced tools available.
Third is the performances delivered by the talent, if applicable. With traditionally low-budget productions, it is generally recognized that performances are not on par with high-budget ones. Our directors hold many years of experience in both advertising and independent filmmaking, insuring that talent performances are consistently extraordinary.
It should also be mentioned that Rarevision does not "outsource" their productions -- the talented writers, directors, cinematographers and editors that collaborate under the Rarevision guidelines are all Rarevision staff. These individuals closely work and play together every day, and are very familiar with each other's styles. Because of this tight integration, Rarevision productions project a very tight, polished image in the mind of the viewer.
We have some existing footage that was shot by another production company on video, but would like to use it to create something new. Can this footage be tweaked to look like it was shot high-budget?
In many cases, it is entirely possible to take existing footage and creatively manipulate it to appear that it is part of a higher-budget production. However, there is no guarantee that it will meet the high quality standards set by Rarevision. The standards exist to insure that the look of your production is consistent with both the message you are trying to convey and your target audience. Unfortunately, archived footage does not always fit the message. While in almost all cases we can create a compelling look no matter what the content, there will be times where we recommend starting from scratch to best represent your identity.
Thank you for considering Rarevision for your identity makeover. Let us share with you what we love to do, and love to do well!
We can't do anything for you until we know you. That's the rule. We need to know your wants, your needs, your aspirations -- only then can we start thinking about what ingredients we want to throw into the mix. We'll hang out, and we'll talk shop. Then we can start getting to work.
So now that we're regular pals, we know what's best for you. Like a buddy snatching your keys away from you after an all-night drinking binge, we'll keep all those nasty, uncompelling ideas from haunting you later. This is where we get to brainstorm and come up with that killer concept potential customers won't be able to ignore.
Here's the fun part. Now that we know what to do, you can turn us loose. We'll take the ideas and turn them into something that televisions all over the place will cream for. We're on the edge, both artistically and technically. It's this high concept route that's going to take your competitors straight to the cleaners.
It's in the can. We've got it. It rocks. Now it's time to get it out there and into the minds of the public. Again, leave it to us. We'll handle the rollout of your campaign and make sure you're in all the right places at all the right times. Everybody will be talking about you. They'll love the new you. You're popular. There's no stopping you.
